Photo of the day: April 7, 2010 Nikon D200

A fall Sunday afternoon stroll in Central Park, on a sunny day and in the company of my daughter, a very successful photographer in her own right, is simply ideal. This swan was in one of the lakes enjoying a rather warm day. The D200 with the 80-300 F 3.5-5.6 VR Nikkor.

The Brooklyn botanic garden on a sunny April day in 2003 with the Olympus E 20. What else can I say. This garden is a true asset to the New York City.

Photo of the day: 4-5-10 Nikon D700

A tree grows in The Bronx. This is another shot from the so called urban chicken farm. Shot with the Nikkor 35-70 F2.8 in macro mode. Not too shabby for a non dedicated macro lens.

HAPPY EASTER Nikon D700

Happy Easter to all. This photo comes from an urban chicken farm. This is sort of a quixotic attempt at changing the way food is made. for all the efforts, the mere 10 chickens produce a puny 7 or so eggs a day. This will not put a dent on the commercial farms. It takes a huge city block of land, with a small coop and other de rigouer items such as solar panels, that do not work and water collectors etc. Not a very impressive enterprise but the eggs make a good Easter photo. I know, I'm cynical but why should I change. One has to be able so sift out all the BS that can engulf and choke you. The D700 had the superb 35-70 F2.8 Nikkor.

Photo of the day April 2, 2010 Nikon D700

My pride and joy. My camellia bush in my back yard that is now in bloom with its perfect intense red flowered.

PHOTO OF THE DAY: 4-1-10 Canon 5D

April may be the cruelest month but the word April alone puts me in a good mood. It's really spring! This shot is from Lido D'Ostia outside Fiumicino airport in Rome. Ostia was Rome's port and is a very important archeological city. The lens was the much maligned 24-85 3.5-4.5 EF. A great travel lens no matter what the silly pixel peekers say.
