Il castello

This is a night shot of the castle that gives my native town of it's name, Castellammare del Golfo. It literally means castle in the sea of the golf. The  golf  being named after the town as golfo di Castellammare. Needless to say I love this place. It was recently named the fourth out of the best 50 tourist sites in Italy in in terms of comfort for the visitors and a welcoming atmosphere.

Full moon over Notre Dame

It's amazing what the new cameras can do these days. Using the Lumix GX-1 electronic shutter i.e no vibration, I was able to take these low light level shots hand held. The anti vibration feature also helped not to mention the ability to use high ISO speeds. It's almost too easy. BTW, no Photoshop tricks were used.

Lower New York Bay

These photos were shot from the Brooklyn Bridge on July of 1986, the day that the Statue of Liberty was reopened for it's 100th birthday. It had bee closed for needed repairs. It was a grand affair as most New York events usually are.
