From a distant Saturday

Saturdays in Central Park were very special in the days of no social media and it's concomitant idevices that are making islands of everyone. The park was participatory and everyone became involved in the scene. Sadly, there's no. These shots are from 1974 when making the scene was very cool and hot.

going back.

Enjoy the weekend

Red poppies

These red poppies were shot in front of my daughter and son in law's home in Corvallis, Oregon. A lovely place. This city is replete with extra wide sidewalks on which people pant beautiful flowers.

Purple crocus

This purple crocus dates from 1975 and was shot in my front yard. The camera was a Nikon FTn with the Nikkor 55mm F 3.5 Micro. A superb lens. The film was Kodachrome 25. It is obviously a scanned image. It's the kind of image to soothe the soul especially during these insane days.

Pasta forever

This superb dish, a variation of the Sicilian dish pasta picchiu pacchiu was created by my friend Laura at the Long Island home of her sister Francesca. It was a great fathers day lunch. This pasta has basically cherry tomatoes, garlic and basil. Laura added crushed almonds and walnuts and sprinked it with bread crumbs. Delicious, healthy and relatively simple- Our cuisine showing its goodness.

For your new week

It's the end of spring flowers. A spring that flew by and like all of them leave you breathless with and awash in beauty. Here are rhododendrons in Milford, PA where each year they put a brief but wonderful show.
