A super fast lens for $170.00?

Introducing the 50.mm F1.1  from SainSonic a Chinese Company

Lenses as fast as this one used to be very expensive and many still are. The Chinese never stop to amaze us. $170.00 for this lens is almost unreal. Naturally, being a lens for APS-C sensors, the equivalent focal lenght will be 175 mm. Now if they could make one for the so called full frame cameras [all cameras sensors are really full frame]  and one for Micro Four Thirds mounts it would be heavenly. The future looks brigth indeed.

View point

Sometimes a  prosaic scene if photographed from an anusual angle will make for interesting images. I shot these neighbors from my top floor balcony in Sicily.

Have a wonderful weekend

Vintage street photography

These images date from the early seventies, a period when I did a lot of street photography. Mostly shot with one of my Leicas and the 35mm F:2 Summicron lens. The film was usually Ektachrome 100 that I bought in 100 feet rolls and developed in Unicolor chemicals and mounted on Spiratone mounts with a Spiratone  little slide mount press. Naturally this was to save money. Today shooting is free but way back then it was rather costly.

Festa spontanea

This is my  Sicilian neighbor, Angela, we made a spontaneous street feast and had a ball doing it. Naturally it became a more organized yearly summer event with lots more food, wine and desserts. You got to live to eat.

Rural views

We are enjoying a short stay in our home in North Eastern Pennsylvania so I'm always shooting. I cannot help it.
