Small town, USA

There is something very charming and appealing about small towns in the States. Most have been hurt financially my the big malls but many are trying to make a come back. This can be said of Honesdale, PA, the county seat of Wayne County.

La festa della Madonna del Soccorso

Today is the grand finale of the feast of the Madonna del Soccorso. patron of Castellammare del Golfo. It starts on August 19 and ends today with a grand procession followed by a very nice fireworks display. This year I will not be there because I went in July and only once due to personal reasons. Sicilian produce

The food in Sicily is divine. It simply has more flavor, more zest, more color and the aromas are more intense. The produce, cultivated 12 months out of the year, is an example of this  phenomenon. These shots were made in my favorite farmer's market in Castellammare del Golfo.
