Enjoy your summer weekend

Finally it's summer

Welcome; it took you long enough and soon you will leave us but the cycle repeats itself.

Sicilian cart parade

Each year during the main feast in August, there's a traditional Sicilian Cart Parade. These wagons used to carry all kinds of merchandise before the trucks took over. They are lovingly restored and  we can see the incredible art applied to them. A wonderful thing to see even though the horses do come dangerously close to the crowd of people with their hands high above their hands holding smart phones and paying no attention to what is going on around them.

Vintage photo

This image was shot on Tri-X Pan many years ago. Taken in a clinic at a Catholic Medical Center hospital that catered to patients with special needs. We were preparing a brochure at that time. Alas these hospitals are no longer in operation due to all sort of financial and other difficulties.

Vintage medium format shots

These images were made on Ektachrome 128 loaded on an Yashica 124 camera, my first 129 format camera and the one that made me an enthusiast of this way of shooting. The place is Stonington, Connecticut; a place we love to go almost yearly. Tempus fugit.

Saturated images

It's fun to shoot color using its ability to create very dramatic images. There's no need to use polarizing filters any more. Just stop down and shoot  away once you have found the appropriate subject.

The seaport.

The South Street Seaport is a great example of good urban planning. A decaying area was converted into a premiere location for the enjoyment of all.
