Have a great Labor Day weekend

A woman in uniform of sorts

Being a recovering sociologist, I developed the theory of standardized social deviation. What it means that any group that deviates from the norm will do it in a way in which the members will adhere to similar ways of behavior. Safety in numbers. As an example all lawyers have a similar style of dress and behavior. All hippies dress the same. Hipsters will only drink out of jelly glasses. Then teenagers all must have similar clothes etc. I could go on. This woman is wearing the American senior standard uniform. She is dressed anachronistically, wears snickers, poor taste in clothes etc. But what is very notable is the feigned interest in the art work she is viewing. She has to look serious and interested as if she really saw inner meanings in the painting. I hope you understand what I'm trying to convey. Naturally I'm having some fun.

Early light

Fortunately I have a dog to walk so I can have a respite from this stupid quarantine and it's concomitant boredom. I also cook a lot and that helps. I always look out for a shot or two and the morning light is most exciting. After all light is what photography is all about. My old iPhone 6S still puts out.

Solitary bird

This solitary bird had the bay all to itself and was enjoying the winter sun. A beautiful animal indeed.

My recent creations

Being quarantined I have more time preparing good food. I concentrate on classical Italian fare that I consider it to be superior and healthier than any other. Of course I'm somewhat prejudiced. But here you have it.

Imported Italian mafaldine with fresh tomato sauce and fried zucchine

Orzo pasta in brodo di manzo. Orzo in classic beef soup

Spezzatino di manzo  con patate, carote e sedano. Beef stew with potatoes, carrots and celery

Penne rigate con salmone, penne with salmom

The harvest

That time of the year when nature's bounty is palpable, in the North East of the USA,is upon us. The local farmers' markets are replete with locally grown and fresh items. They are pricey but what the hell. I hope that ,in spite of this annoying and seemingly endless quarantine, you can steal a trip or two and go get some of the good stuff. If nothing else, it will fight the boredom. Enjoy.
