NOTO
No one can say that have been to Sicily unless they go to Noto. In the end of the 17th century, this very wealthy and important center in Southern Sicily was razed by an earthquake. It was rebuilt in the then current architectural style that was late baroque. What resulted was a gem of a city. It has been fully restored to it's former glory and it is now a Heritage of Humanity site according to UNESCO. The vitality and super friendliness of it's people is almost unreal. The food is superb as it has and is producing some of Italy's greatest young chefs. More will follow on the great hospitality of this city.
