La tammuriniata ppi la festa di la Bedda Matri
This is the "tammuriniata" or drumming for the feast of the Madonna del Soccorso, the patron of Castellammare del Golfo. The feast, a three days event, it begins on August 19 with the "tammuriniata," and ends on the 21st with a very long procession culminating in a spectacular fire works show. The legend behind the event is the intervention in favor of Castellammare of the Madonna in suppressing the British Navy whose marines were posed to attack and sack the town. These photos were taken with the G 11.
