La plaia beach / Have a lovely / Tuesday / Buon Martedi

The beach in Castellammare is known as the Plaia, the Italian version of Playa from the Spanish word due to the fact that the Spaniards were once here among others who conquered this strategically important island.



It's a very lovely beach that is on the eastern part of the town.

These photos were sent to me by my wife Marcy who captured them with the G-9 Not too shabby. Actually they are great. This large bird seems to appear in our neighborhood in Queens at this time every year. It's actually somewhat scary and a danger to small animals. The photo with the squirrel is very telling.
