You all know by now my affection foe Leica but it must be added that their prices in the digital era are at best way out in left field, This also applies to their superb lenses.
Now that Sony has introduced what may be called a Leica like camera albeit without the great viewfinder and lens interchangeability it begs the question as recently posted in DPreview.com.
With a list price of $2800, the RX1 is going to be out of the reach of
most photography enthusiasts but, when looked at another way, it costs
less than a Leica 35mm F2 Summicron
lens, before you even start thinking about buying a body to mount it
on. Having a lens matched to the sensor and a more modern sensor at that
are real strengths, compared to the digital Leicas and, of course, some
people might appreciate a camera that can autofocus.
Greetings, this blog is dedicated to my life in photography. I want to make this a place to stop and relax. In the hope that this will help in these trying times
