As I was returning from Scopello I stopped by a panelle vendor by the road. [Panelle are Sicilian chick peas patties that you eat with bread in a sandwich.] The man was sitting by the seller taking a break from the sun. He may be the last herder in these parts. Too bad. All has changed to this modern smart phone driven world where there are no longer any authentic products and all is really plastic. People who have accepted this connected world are losing out on the real world. As the old song went, nothing is real; how true. as for the panelle stand, it's days are numbered.
