A few of the musicians who sit on the giglio and are carried on the tired shoulders of the so called lifter. All part of the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Brooklyn. An Italian American tradition of many decades. The area has changed but the feast goes on yearly in eaarly July. Very interesting to watch nd participate. The smell of zeppole and sausage and pepper is everywhere but it's now joined be aromas of foods of other nations. The crowds are now a mix of old timers and all sorts of hipsters. Only in New York.
