More fava beans. This is the real and original pasta con le fave secche o  pasta 'cu maccu. In Sicily the fava's cooked in this matter are called maccu. This probably the queen of cucina povera or poor cuisine. The irony in this is that the poor actually ate more nutricious and healthy dishes than the rich who ate all sorts of fattening foods. At any rate this is a super simple and economical dish that provides needed proteins. It's my favorite meal.
