This is what my beloved mother called salsa semplice or simple sauce. Simple but it takes a few delicate steps to pull it of. The oil must be super hot and the garlic clove must really sizzle when the tomatoes or even pomodorini are violently throw in. This creates a reaction that coats the tomatoes with something akin to a cream. Add pieces of basil and throw in the al dente pasta. The magic is done.
