Venice isn't all crowds and tourists; it's side alleys provide a different perspective. Sadly there are not many people living in Venice as most entrepreneurs of stores and galleries live in Mestre. It's too expensive to live here because everything must be delivered on barges. So who is left are the very rich in their palazzi and the not so rich in their modes abodes. At the risk of getting lost, one must wonder into these colorful calle, as they are named, and see how the other half lives.
