Piazza del Palio in Siena, Tuscany. Here is where they run the famous palio di Siena, a horse race with teams from different neighborhoods. Something to see especially since the competition is held on a circular motion in this square with countless spectators behind small barricades. Occasionally someone gets hurt but not frequently. Many times the horses fare badly. It's a very long tradition going back to the renaissance.
