Polenta with a squash sauce. A seasonal northern Italian dish. I may be Sicilian but I love polenta. Years ago Italy was divided between polenta in the north and pasta in the south as these were staple dishes. Pasta won the culinary battle but polenta dishes are special. And naturally, being Sicilian, I had to have bread with it. I know it's sacrilegious anh hope that my norther compatriots will forgive me.
