Photography has the ability to capture and preserve moments in time. Because of modern film and digital, the images no longer appear dated. Perhaps the clothing changes and in the older photos there are no smart phones. I often wonder what happened to the people in the shots. Where did they go afterwards; what did they do. These photos were shot in June of 1978 during the annual Saint Juan Day celebration. It is one of the most colorful event in the ethnic calendar of the big city. Another reason to love New York.
