There's always Venice

When everything fails, I go to my Venice photos to save the day

Precisely, these photos date from May of 1974. It seems as if if were yesterday. But times marches on. The camera was a Leica M-4 with a 35mm Summicron F2 and naturally, the film was Tri-X. What can I say; let the images speak for themselves.

Happy anniversary

If I may, I want to be very personal in this post. It's our wedding anniversary and I want to celebrate it by celebrating the great city of Paris. A place that we love and holds special memories. After all it's the place we truly fell in love. Merci Paris. We shall return as often as we ca. But I also want to extend thank yous to my lovely wife, Marcy, for putting up with me for all these years. Unending love, Rocco.

Hon Kong, the way it was

This image dates from 1971 and was taken on a busy street  on Victoria Island, as it was called then. There's a lot of activity going on. It was shot on Agfachrome that had faded and then converted to black and white.

This lone man caught my eye last year in Paris;  it's what is called street photographyfor lack of a better name. Sadly, it's time to say godby for this year.

The so called left bank of Paris also known as the Latin Quarter because students from everywhere could only communicate in Latin, has undergone many changes. Like any other wealthy city in the West, it has succumbed to gentrification. Nevertheless, there are still some streets that although  tacky and very touristy, try to go back to the old bohemian days. Here are some street scenes.
