Ten years have passed

It's hard to believe that this monumental display that briefly transformed Central Park occurred ten years ago. At first I thought it was a gimmick, but once there I realized that it had transformed the park into a wondrous place and made the winter much more pleasant. What amazes me most is that we see no smart phones and no one is looking down at their puny screens nor is anyone engaged in taking selfies. People were looking and participating as a group and enjoying the event as a part of a group. Actually ten years is really not a very long time but our way of interacting has radically changed.

It's been nine years already

Nine years have passed since The Gates, a work of art that involved the entire Central Park, came and went. It was, as anything in New York, huge, crowded but ultimately unique. I was sorry to see it close  since it was a welcome sight that warmed up the winter of 2005. But all comes to an end. I like to go back to these images often and always find interesting ones. I went on a few occasions and on this one I took along a Nikon D2-H. As I always say, I love this city.

The Gates

Back in central park but 3 decades later, 2005, to be precise. Here are a few images from that great and massive work of art known as the gates but which I called the curtains since the pieces all looked like shower curtains. It warmed up a very cold winter and made central Park even more magical. I just loved it.
