Views from The High Line

The High Line is one of New York's success stories. An abandoned elevated rail road once used to bring in carcasses to the meat packing district on the lower west side, was converted into a superb venue in which people can enjoy themselves for free. Just wonderful.

The Highline

This was an old elevated rail road line that mainly brought carcasses ti the meat cutting district in lower Manhattan. The area became gentrified and the elevated line was turned into a lovely venue that offers wonderful vistas. Theseshots are shot on a very hot summer afternoon.

I love this city

We took a stroll on the High Line on the lower West Side on a very pleasant Columbus Day. The place was teeming with people having a great and relaxing time. Leave it to this city to make something great and this venue is absolutely New York, absolutely wonderful. The camera was the Lumix GX1 with the  Olympus Zuiko 9-24 lens.
