Old Charleston, SC

These are slides dating from June of 1974. A Nikon FTn loaded with the new Kodachrome 25 that was inferior to the Kodachrome II it had replaced. Even then Kodak showed signs of its eventual decline. They then added new black and white films and retired that wonderful Panatomic-X. Too bad. Fortunately they did not retire Tri-X Pan. 

Charleston, SC long ago.

Because Charleston was not destroyed during the Civil War, it has kept all it's ante bellum charm. These Kodachrome 25 scans date from the spring of 1974.

The things I find

Going through the archives in trying to post images, I run across photos that I forgotten. These images were shot in Charleston South Carolina way back in 1974. The film was Kodachrome 25 that had just replaced Kodachrome II. 

Sunday in the park, just a few years ago...

Actually many years ago. In 1974, in New York's Central Park on a late winter day that was sunny and not too cold. As the song goes, "I remember it well."

Just a tease

Presently, where this blog is originating from, it's a chilly -11 degrees Celsius so I may be excused if I post two recent scans of beautiful red magnolias that hearken back to warmer spring days past but with the hope that they will soon make their much desired return.

Tourist with guts

This gutsy tourist was shot in Tangiers a "few" years ago. That's a cobra and she was being a good sport.
