A vintage photo shot way back in 1971 with my Yashicamat - 124 my introduction to medium format photography. Boy did I love this camera. The site was Beautiful Mystic Connecticut and the film Tri_X 120 Pro. I love this image.

Night shot.
This digital image was made in Mystic Connecticut from Mystic Inn overlooking the pond that borders its property. A shot like this would have been impossible using film because of the inevitable reciprocity failure that resulted from long exposures. I could have changed the color temperature but I like the warm colors.

Mystyc
The of whaling town of Mystic in western Connecticut is a splendid place to visit. It's touristy but in a tasteful manner. I just love to go there. These photos are from last year's trip. Sadly, because of many family activities, we weren't able to make our annua trip there this year. As Mets' fans say, wait until next year.

Afternoon light
It bears repeating that the best times of the day to take photos is early morning and late afternoon. This is when the sun is low at the horizon and it's light is very warm. It is when there are nice shadows that make even a prosaic image a keeper.

Mystic. Connecticut on a misty day
Perhaps this misty conditions that often occur gave this wonderful place it's name. This mist does create more mystical images.

No tripod, no problem
I do not like to carry tripods as I was thought to hold cameras steady especially my Leicas but there are times that one cannot hold it if a time exposure is needed. What to do. There are substitute tripods all over. This shot of Mystic , Connecticut was shot by placing the camera atop the railing on the bridge and holding it down with hand pressure. It took a 4 seconds exposure but there's no movement. No tripod, no problem.
