I tend to get sentimental at this time of the year. Back to Pisa in August 1969. We were some of the last people allowed to climb to the top pf the leaning tower. It was soon shut down to visitors and more work was started to prevent it from toppling down. It was an experience to say the least.

Yes indeed the tower leans. I was one of the last visitors who was still allowed  to climb to the top.  Of course that was back in 1969; it was closed to tourists soon after. As it can be seen, there are no balustrades or other ways for one to hold on. It was a very scary photo session. Today, the tower is deem
