This sign was on an Indian restaurant on East 28th Street. I took this shot around 1974; needless to say, the area is now totally gentrified and this establishment is long gone.

I always get a kick out of this image shot in the fall of 1957 during my first trip to Venice. The only thing I knew was that Kodachrome was the slide film to use. Time really flies.

One of my earliest photos. Made on a borrowed Kodak Retina folding 35mm camera. I did know that Kodachrome II gave excellent colors. Downtown Manhattan shot from Brooklyn's promenade.

A truly archival shot. Venice September 1967, Piazza San Marco. From the walkway of St. Mark's cathedral. I returned after about 50 years and took what looked like the same shot. It's uncanny how a photograph can freeze a real moment in time. What happened to all these people? I wonder.

This picture is worth posting again. A vintage Kodachrome from the summer of 1972 shot in Agrigento, Sicily. The valley of the temples, a vast area where some of the best preserved Greek temples in all Magna Grecia are located. It's now an architectural park totally full of tourists and shut at night. Way back then one could drive close and personal at any time pf the day or night. BTW, the moon is real;no Photoshop.
