The flat iron building in Manhattan on a rainy fall day in the early seventies.

 The South Street Seaport area -1975- before it became one of New York's top tourist venue.

Vintage Kodachrome of the Brooklyn Bridge from the then nascent South Street Seaport, before all the trendy shops and tourist traps. No matter, the seaport is a magnificent site to enjoy.
 

 The Saint Anthony's feast held yearly in June on Sullivan Street, Manhattan. An interesting combination of old timers and near by Greenwich Village hipsters. Of Course there the ineluctable procession with the Statue accompanied by a band and the money collected and pinned on the Saint's scarfs. Very colorful This is a vintage shot made with my Leica M-4 and good old Kodak Tri-X a superb combination that allowed m.e to get close and personal with my subjects.

 This is to me a very disturbing image. I shot it at Central Park, Manhattan, in the early seventies with a Leica M-2 and the 90mm F 2.8 Elmarit lens. I was also on a boat. There is something unsettlig in this composition. The film was Tri_X, naturally.

 Another example of my street photography that sort of peaked just before we had children at which point my main concern was making a living. This photo, a Kodachrome II slide shot with a Nikon FTn and the superb 105 mm F 2.5 in Central Park. A spring Sunday afternoon in 1973. It proves that with a bag of peanuts and some seeds anyone can became  modern day St. Francis. I should talk; I'm also feeding birds and squirrels.

 An archival Kodachrome from the early seventies shot in Central Park on a quiet winter afternoon.

 Union Square park in NYC; it was the winter of 1976. My Leica M2 was loaded with Tri-X and the superb Summicron F 2 captured the image. What wonderful days.

 This powerful image is all an archival shot. I used a Canon FT with the standard 50mm F1.4 Canon FL lens. The film was Kodak Tri-X. I believe it to be one of my better images.

Cat on a tin roof

 This cute kitty was photographed on South Street, Manhattan,  back in 1974 when the South Street Seaport was in its infancy. I used a 90mm Leitz Elmarit F 2.8 on a Leica M2R using Ektachrome that I developed on Unicolor chemistry. Another shot from the past.

 I'm going through my archives and as you can see I did much street photography in the seventies. I had a studio but used it basically as a so called artist. Then I became a father so my focus shifted to making a living in photography. I was always interested in human photography so on jobs I always tried to take a few candids and other people photos. This man was selling balloons at the San Gennaro feast in Manhattan in the early seventies. There's much sadness and resignation in this image.

 Another victim of gentrification in Manhattan Little Italy. This great source of Italian food is no longer. This, Kodachrome is from the mid seventies. The area is now practically an extension of China Town. What remains are a few mediocre restaurants and caffe's. that cater mainly cater to tourists. Too bad.
