I love potato gnocchi - dumplings - and I prepared these imported ones in a creamy cheese sauce with a little fried bacon to add savory contrast. Filling and delicious. However this is by no means a light or delicate dish dish.

Another healthy vegetarian dish.  Italian potato gnocchi with mushroom and cauliflower ragout. I sprinkled pistachios and black pepper atop. A very nice outcome. Delicious.

It's nice not to cook sometimes. Since I'm enjoying a stay in my house in northern PA, I decided to eat at my favorite Italian restaurant in Scranton. Stefano, the owner-chef and a friend just opened a bigger and very stylish restaurant  located at 114 Wyoming Avenue to great and deserves success. His specialty is fresh pasta. A plethora of styles that he also sells on line. In the restaurant you can have your favorite with a variety of sauces. Naturally he also serves great antipasti and pizzas; all delicious. On this occasion I opted for gnocchi with pesto. Stefano is from Genova so his pesto is authentic. The only thing I can say is to visit this restaurant if you are in the area. You will be very satisfied.

Italian potatoes gnocchi with sausage, mushrooms and peas. A change of pace. No cream or soft cheese were added. Just a simple straightforward dish. I did sprinkle some parmigiano reggiano.
