La Bedda Matri

The Beautiful Mother i.e the Madonna on her special day here in Cstellammare del Golfo. The occasion is the town's main feast that of the 21st of August. This procession is truly spectacular and attended by a very large number of people carrying candles ahead of the statue.

The new World Trade Center, emerging

The new World Trade Center is almost complete. These shots are from Long Island City, Queens. It may be new and improved but it will never replace the Twin Towers in the hearts of New Yorkers.

These old date and palm  trees are in the town park in Castellammare del Golfo and I remember them from the time I was a mere child. They still bring out fond memories.

Looking forward to autumn
