La festa di la Bedda Matri. The town feast in honor its Patron The Madonna del Soccorso in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily. A Canon 30D with the 24 to 85 3.5 4.5 EF lens.

The old Film Vs Digital debate that will not go away.

It's always heard by many, some of whom, are basically computer phobic and unable to change that "film still rocks" or that it's superior to digital. It's one of those annoying arguments that will simply not fade away into the sunset. Each media has its strong points. However, each media records reality with its own distortions. This debate reminds me of the old CD Vs LP debate two decades ago or so, Each gives it's own take on reality and that is actually a good thing. Digital is what it is but we always make the mistake of comparing it to film. They are completely different media. If you like film fine, who am I to tell you that you are wrong or right. It's wrong, though, to expect digital to emulate film. It cannot be done. Digital has many great advantages over film, but it's not film and can never be. Just go out and take pictures with whichever media you use. Have fun;life is too short.

We are in Siena, in April of 2007 and it's that magical time, dusk. The Nikon D200 with the Nikkor 18 to 85 3.5-4.5 Nikkor. One of my faves.

Look what the neighbor brought. Again with the LX 3

I have found this camera totally satisfying this time around. No need for heavy and bulky equipment. After all, it's a vacation not an assignment.
