Remembering Mookie

I just ran across a 4x6 print that I shot many years ago of my Mookie who was without a doubt the greatest animal I have ever had and I have had many. He left a void in my heart that can never be filled. He was pure love. I will never forget him.

From the archives / Fuji S1-Pro

Shot at a children's party for a brochure for Family and Children's Association. These were my first attempts at digital and the S1-Pro always rose to the occasion. These are out of camera JPEGS.

Glorious North Eastern fall / Nikon D-200

I really do not want to rush things but the fall in the North East is absolutely glorious. This shot was taken with the 17-55 F2.8 DX Nikkor.

A rainy day / Canon 1D III

It is raining all the time this week. I just looked at a photo from a year ago and it was raining too. This picture may not be great but it sort of captures the scene of a walk in an urban park after a rainstorm in late spring. The lens was the Canon 24-105 F4 L.

A late breakfast / Nikon D-700

That is the late breakfast that awaits me in Sicily. After the usual cappuccino and cornetto, and before lunch, I usually make myself this dish. Bread on the bottom sprinkled with sea salt and olive oil; the tomatoes and basil go on top with the olives and cheese on the side or also on top. This dish, if used as lunch can benefit from a good Italian tuna fish placed below the tomatoes and basil. Delicious and healthful.
The lens was the superb Nikkor 28-105 F 3.5-4.5. An old "non digital" lens that works better than most so called "digital ready" lenses that are made with too much plastic for my taste.

Riserva Lo Zingaro / Canon G-11

The Lo Zingaro natural reserve, west of Castellammare and adjacent to Scopello, is a pristine and protected area that includes a large area of land with its littoral. It can only by accessed by walking and by boats that are to be kept away about one hundred meters. One may swim to the shore. It is the way that area used to be when mainly fishermen used to cast their nets.
