Springtime in Sicily

Image
These images were shot near Scopello in Sicily. I used a soft focus filter to enhance the feeling of  total beauty and peace that only springtime can elicit.

Have a beautiful weekend

Le Petit Palais

The Petit Palais is one of the nicest museums in Paris. Besides it collections, the place itself is wonderful. It should not be missed,

Archival shots. Arthur Avenue area of The Bronx

Image
The Arthur Avenue area is perhaps the last real little Italy in New York City. It still has a charm and a certain authenticity. These slide scans date from 1986 and are part of a project I was involved in but the area is basically still the same.

How time flies

Image
These images are from my very first trip to Venice back in 1967. They were shot with a Kodak Retina 35mm folding camera. What is interesting is that the couple in the gondola should be hopefully celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year. How time flies.

Builngs awaiting reabilitation

Image
These images were shot a few years ago, before these buildings were restructured and modernized to accommodate tourists. To create an even more sober and dramatic look. I used a special filter on my Olympus EPL-2. I was just in time because when I returned a few months later work has already begun to turn these into bed and breakfasts. With the changes a lot of the old soul is gone.

Oldie medium format shot

Image
This image shot in the summer of 1969 is still one of my favorites. It was taken with a Yashicamat 124 using Anscopan 500, 120 film and developed with Ansco Hyfonol. The place is upstate New York.

Have a splendid week

A Sad Time for Steve's Digicams - Steve's Founder Dies at 64 It is with a heavy heart that we inform our readers that the founder of Steve's Digicams, Steve Sanders, passed away recently at the age of 64. Steve started this website back in 1997, which he almost single-handedly built over the years into one of the top digital camera review sites on the internet. Steve was never after the almighty dollar, rather he wanted to share his passion for photography and electronics with others, in hope to inspire them to take up the hobby for themselves; or at the very least help them take better photos with their new digital cameras. Steve's Digicams grew into one of the top websites on the internet for digital camera reviews and information, with Steve and his small staff reviewing hundreds of cameras each year, along with printers and other accessories. Our motto has and always will be, "The Consumers Best Source for Digital Camera News and Information...
