When smoking was so cool

Image
These were shot on Ektachrome 100 that I developed myself on Unicolor chemicals that have held on to their colors faithfully. One was converted to black and white for personal reasons. Prospect Place at Francklin Avenue in Brooklyn. The year was 1974 and the camera was the Nikon F with no meter, I used the Weston Master V to measure the light, and the fabulous Nikkor 35mm F 2.8 lens. .

A few more vintage photos.

Contemporary sculpture

Image
This wonderful contemporary sculpture is in front of a new bar in Honesdale PA. It's made of glass and the pieces are attached on a bicycle wheel. I love how it contrasts with the cloudy sky,

Gelsi rossi, food report from Sicily

Image
I will from time to time post photos of my trip. I have to start with a food or fruit shot. This morning I went to my favorite farmer's market to stock up and saw these Sicilian red mulberries. These are not anything like the ones in the States that are small and saccharine sweet..These are large and have a tar bitter sweet flavor that is to die for.

Image
The fascination with roses is universal and even mysterious as many unwarranted qualities have been linked to "the rose." But I just love to smell their fragrance and to photograph them. These are from br backyard.
