Have a great summer / Abbiate una grande estate
There's no image that signifies summer has the parachute in Coney Island. This was actually shot in early spring but it will do.
The long days are also what I love about summer. I'm a sun person after all. This shot is from Manhattan's Little Italy on a summer evening.
Naturally we must have flowers to highlight summer's beauty.
And there's always the who'e fun of it. This shot was taken at Baltimore Harbor.

There's always Venice / Nikon D-200
I'm always fascinated how people go about their normal lives when they are constantly surrounded by a plethora of tourists. Yet, in spite of it all, Venetians manage.

More from San Gemignano / Nikon D-200
These are people shots. The place is overwhelmed by tourists. How the natives take this I do not understand except that this brings in money to their economy.

San Gemignano / Nikon D-200
San Gemignano in Tuscany is called the Manhattan of Italy because of its many towers. There used to be many more but many have bit the dust. They do make for interesting shots.

The advantages of digital
I'm not necessarily anti film, I worked with it for over 30 years so I have my unique appreciation of that medium. Nevertheless, there are things that a digital camera can do easily that with film it took two different rolls or use of filters. With digital it takes a mere change in the light balance, These two photos are shot at the same time of day at the same location using two different white balance settings. Interesting.

An afternoon in Breezy Point / Canon G-9
The G-0 is a great camera and within it's limitations it can be very useful. Here the late afternoon light makes the picture.
Breezy Point is a very unusual beach community that although part of New York City, it appears to be a totally different world.
