Archival shot / Nikon Ftn
The top one was shot from the press truck in front of the marchers on 5th Ave. during the Columbus day parade of 1978 next to president Carter. The bottom head shot was shot at the old Plaza hotel. Where did the time go. The lens was the Nikkor 105 F 2.5. I still have this great lens and it still puts out on my digital Nikons, Pavarotti was young then and so was I. Contrary to what I have recently read, I found him to be a very warm person with whom I conversed easily. Of course, he had not yet reached the pinnacle of fame then.

As for the unannounced price...ouch!
From the EIZO website:
Eizo Announces a 4K LCD Monitor
The NAB 2012 expo is coming up and the people at Eizo have already announced that they are bringing a new high definition monitor for photo and video editors that want the best - the FDH3601 4K monitor.
A 4K resolution means that in one monitor you'll have the same pixel count as in four 1080p televisions. It's not just about resolution though, the FDH3601 offers 100% sRGB coverage and utilizes Digital Uniformity Correction to keep the tone smooth across your screen. It can recreate 278 trillion colors thanks to a 16-bit look-up table. The topic of high performance monitors is rather moot. If one wants the best prints or if one wants to match what's on the screen with what comes out of the printer then by all means get the best one you can afford and keep profiling it regularly. But since most people do not have such monitors, i.e. most costumers, have cheap monitors to begin with, then paying big bucks for such a monitor becomes a more difficult choice. But you decide.
Greenport [ part 2 ] E PL-2
These were shot on an early spring afternoon with the Olympus kit lens, the 14-43 F 5.6. Amazing sharpness and image quality from a standard lens.

A tribute to my beloved Mookie / Fuji S-1 Pro
Those of us who love and have loved animals will understand; for those of you who have never had this pleasure I really feel sorry for you. For those of you who dislike animals.. or even do not see the need for them well the less said the better. After all, I do not want to alienate my beloved visitors.
This was my Mookie, an unforgettable Belgian sheep dog who was the love of my life, Being a long haired dog, winter and snow made him extremely happy. He will never be forgotten.. Please allow me this sentimental look at my Mookie. All the best, Rocco Galatioto.

Long Island's North Fork / Canon 5-D
The Long Fork of Long Island is one of my favorites parts of the state. Not only for its great wines that I adore but for it's scenery.
For those who need to know, the lens was the Canon 24-105 F 4 L.
