A calia e simenza / E PL-2

Dried chick peas [calia] and salted pumpkin seeds [simenza] are standard fare for the festa del ventuno. The feast of the 21st of August. These is truly traditional food that preceded all the present chips.

Bocce player fom the archives / Fuji S2 Pro

In the park near my home there are well utilized bocce courts whose players are undounted by the elements. Unless it rains hard they will play. on some of the coldest days, they are there without gloves. This shot was taken with the Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 lens.

What divine simplicity / E P-2

In a recent post I stated that the New England Protestant ethic had beaten the bauhaus movement in the ideal that form follows function. This old bicycle at the Northampton Museum shows this. Made late in the 19th century, it has a very appealing modern design whose simplicity is it's true beauty.

Renaissance villa in Connecticut / E PL-2

This is Tennessee William's Italian style villa south of Groton Connecticut on the sound. It is a wonderful place with superb gardens. The location is absolutely wonderful. It is now a state park and it is worth a visit that includes use of the beach.
