Saint Augustine, Florida

After resisting visiting Florida, it was love at first sight. This is especially true for Saint Augustine. This very old city offers great Latin charm and food along with wonderful people and very pleasant vistas. Got to go back.

Broad Channel, Queens

This quaint and absolutely self isolated neighborhood on Queen, NYC. is licated on a peninsula that leads to the Rockaways. It's a very interesting place to visit but it is not very visitor friendly. We could not find a place to eat anywhere.

Thinking of Oregon

While I'm in Sicily charging my ethnic batteries, my mind wonders back to Oregon a place that I had never but fell in love with. These old timers were playing at a local farmer's market in Corvallis.

La processione

Tonight's procession is the culmination of the feast; it's a very impressive religious event.  I was born on the narrow street depicted by the two vertical shots. The horizontal one depicts the the Quattro Canti or the town main square. Once the statue is returned to the main church, an impressive fireworks display is held on the water.
