The wonder of black and white

As I have stated on many occasions, some images call for black and white and  when medium format is used the results can be wonderful. Once again, the camera was a Rolleiflex loaded with Tri-X Pan professional 120 film.

From an old afternoon at the park

Before smart phoens and virtual communities, people actually interacted with each other. There were also places where everyone mingled and participated eiter ac actors or as an audience. This was called making the scene and Central  Park was one of the places to be. These images date from the early seventies and are black and white conversions of color slides whose hues had become weak.

Interesting community

Broad Channel is located in a strip of land connecting Queens to the rockaways. This area is part of  New York City but you would never imagine it to be. It is a rather isolated place with many very local traditions. It is, nevertheless, fascinating.

Archival black and white

I posted this before but I'm posting it again so that others may see it. I love this od photo shot on Pacific Street in Brooklyn way back in the summer of 1970. I used a Canon FT with a 50mm f 1.5 Caon FL lens. Naturally, the film was TRI-X.

Have a lovely week
