The lore of trains

We may live in a digital age in which all is connected and virtual minus virtue, yet we are always longing for the past. Trains are a magnet and an imaginary portal to a simpler and slower time when things were harder but more tangible. These shots are from the Essex Steam Train Museum in Essex Connecticut. I was attracted to the Diesel engine because of the way the red shouted out at me. There are not to  many such places left and finding one is very rewarding. More photos to follow.

The 59 Street Bridge

They keep changing it's name but to us true Newyorkers it's always the 59 Street Bridge.  

It's that time of the year....
