The lure of trains

Image
There's something magical about trains especially old steam locomotives. These images were shot in Strasburg, PA, at the railroad museum.

Have a rosy weekend

Ice museum

Image
The countryside is replete with many so called museums. Some are a total waste of time while others are worth a look. This ice museum is located at a ice factory that specializes in ice sculptures. Here we see some implements used to cut ice blocks straight out of frozen lakes many years ago.

Addio Mario

Image
The passing of Mario Cuomo greatly saddens me. I am proud to have been his photographer for the 1977 run for Mayor and the subsequent and successful gubernatorial election. I will always treasure is friendship. He was a nice man and perhaps one of the rare honest men who dealt in politics. I like to remember him with this photo that dates from the fall of 1977 when he was at the height of his physical powers. I shall miss him. We, my wife Marcy and I, want to extend our  condolences to Mrs Cuomo, the lovely Matilda, and the children one of whom is the current governor of NYS.

Congratulations to Italy's new President

Image
Congratulations Mr. Sergio Mattarella on being elected Italy's new Head of State. The fact that you are, like me,  born in the lovely Castellammare del Golfo makes me very proud. I wish you great success. This one is for you.

To honor the new President of Italy

I am very proud that Italy's new head of state, Sergio Mattarella, is my paesano . He was also born in my beloved Castellammare del Golfo. I wish him great success. This photo is for you, Mr. President.

Celebrate, enjoy, it will get better with the new year

Traditions

Image
As new year's eve approaches, I think of the traditional foods that we eat in Italy. These fresh salamis and sausages were shot in an open market food court in Genoa, Italy with the Canon  G-9. Buon appetito.

With dignity

Image
A photographer unable to shoot his subjects in a dignified manner is just an aggressive and invasive non entity. No telephoto but meaningful interaction and most of all realize that people's dignity is paramount. BTW, seniors are also one of mt favorite subjects.

Cute children

Image
Those of you who have visited regularly know that I love to photograph children. These were  shot at a Catholic Charities event a few years ago.
