A pleasant walk in Union Square Park in Manhattan on a beautiful spring day. What can be better than to stop at the famous farmers' market that has become a must go place in this park.
The canon 5D II and the superb 24-105 F4 L lens.

A photo of a dear friend in Genoa who personifies those qualities that make Italians such amazing people. His love of life, good food, sports, literature, and all around good living with superb taste in clothes and all accessories make one wonder why the rest of the world is not of the same persuasion. In Italy, for example, eating is a serious art. We had a meal that featured baby lamb. One would think that this were a simple matter. Not really. Getting the lamb became a serious business as only the lamb from Sardinia was deemed acceptable and many butcher shops had to be queried until the right one was found. I will not elaborate on the wine selection as it would take too much time.
The amazing thing is that the people with whom I shared this wonderful meal were not rich; they were all middle class persons. Needless to say I cannot wait to return in July. This time I will first go to Campania for that great Neapolitan cuisine and where I will eat those sublime mozzarelle di bufala and then I will return to Sicily where the cuisine is absolutely phenomenal as it includes gastronomic hints of many cultures.
The photo of my friend "Il Conte" was taken with the 24-104 F4 L lens. No flash was used.

The return home
After driving from western Sicily to Genova to take a plane to Rome and then to JFK, I finally returned. My flight out of Rome was the last before the airport was closed again. This volcanic ash is really a pain. I will resume the blog. I arrived in Genova at 4:00am and had to be at the airport at 6:00am; no time to post photos.

There was something right about the skin tones of the D 1-X. Only the Fuji S2-Pro did better. The Nikkor 35-135 F 3.5-4.5 was used.
