Field of dreams / E PL2

Image
I shot this gorgeous field laden with wildflowers with the Olympus M Zuiko Digital 9-18mm 1:4-5.6. Very summer like.

Leaning tower / Nikon D-200

Image
Well, the leaning tower of Pisa may be the be known worldwide as "the" leaning tower but it is not the only one. There are many others, of course and this one is in Venice in the canal parallel to the one where the Ponte dei sospiri or the Bridge of Sighs. It is not as imposing as the Pisan tower but it stands out nevertheless.

Late afternoon in Piazza San Marco / Nikon D-200

Image
Photos to be of interest must always convey dramatic light. Late afternoon or early morning are the best times. Also, the light is much warmer.

Vanity will ultimately get you..or me.

Image
Shot in my hotel room in Venice on 3-31-11. I had to share it.

There's always Venice / Nikon D-200

Image
Finding interesting photos to share is difficult. Of course when all fails I go back to the Venice files and I usually find something good.

Two more from Siena / Nikon D-200

Image
A good use of the 12-24 mm lens. Hard to use without getting ridiculously distorted images that appear to fall on your head. It's a neat lens but it's range makes it not very useful as a travel lens as it;s weight to usefulness ratio is small. With patient it can yield interesting shots.

A garden in Siena / Nikon D-200

Image
These shots reveal the beauty of the garden below our hotel in Siena. We had to pass through it to get to our car. The Palazzo Ravizzo was the wonderful hotel. The lens was the Sigma 12-24 F3.5-5.6 EX. I hope it were possible to convey the wonderful fragrance in the air.

Granarolo / E PL2

Image
This lovely hamlet overlooks Genova. It really a very nice vantage point. I actually chose the shot from below. From Genova toward Granarolo instead of the panoramic view from above. The two birds sort of make the picture.

From the picnic / Canon 1D II

Image
Two more from the Catholic Charities picnic. Shot with the Canon 24-105 F4 L. I never had to change lenses.

Mystical Evening / E PL2

Image
Mystic Connecticut in late evening. Absolutely mystical.
