Street candia

This candid shot was made many years ago in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. This man was then a vegetable push cart vendor. I love the spontaneity.

Have a great weekend

By the window

These images which I amusingly call abstractions were all shots in the middle seventies on Kodachrome II with a Nikon FTn and  a 50mm F 1.4 Nikkor lens. I was experimenting with window light and very shallow depth of field. Naturally, they were scanned.

Sicilian colors

Sicily is an amplifier for the senses. It all looks, brighter, more colorful, tastier and more beautiful. This shot above Guidaloca in the gulf of Castelammare is an example of this phenomenon.

Late spring, a long time ago

In May of 1970 we took one of our frequent trips to the Palisades Interstate Park. This is a natural  area close to the city and lies in both New Jersey and New York states finally ending up at Bear Mountain. It is a great place to see the fall colors but on this rainy day in spring it was absolutely enchanting. The film was Agfachrome 50 120 and te camera was the Yashicamat 124, my first 120 camera.

Do yuo really need a camera?

Perhaps for most shooting needs you no longer need one. DP Review made an interesting comparison. Very eye opening indeed.

Urban park

These images are from an urban Park in Corvallis, Oregon. It is so large that it makes one feel in the middle of a forest. This was morning light when it's more dramatic.
