The view from the park

Gantry Park is actually a state park that is located on the Queens side of the East River in the neighborhood known as Long Island City. This was a docking yard for freight train cars that wee then added to trains of the old Long Island railroad. The area is super gentrified now with so many high rise that it seems like Manhattan. The park is a lovely site to see the skyline since it's located across from midtown.

The inevitable junk yard

No matter where one goes, the reality of the consumption economy loom large. This is a chop shop in Sicily of all places. Although t i an eye sore it did make for interesting images.

This photo of the Throgs Neck Bridge joining The Bronx with Queens, in NYC, was shot at the summer solstice a few years ago. After a brief shower, the rainbow appeared.

It is always the light

The main lesson in photography is catch the interesting light. These images by my wife, Marcy. prove this point. BTW, she loves Paris even more than I do.
