  These very pleasant and fragrant wild roses are in my backyard. They bloom in June and last no more than ten days but they are glorious.

  The absolute queen of Italian sweets, the cassata siciliana or the Sicilian cassata. This is the original one decorated with candied fruit and it has a coating of marzipan under the exterior velata or sugar coating. It is superb but a shot of insulin is recommended before eating it!
