New crop oranges E PL-2

Image
As a very ancient but modern marketing ploy, they are picked and sold with some of their leaves still on them. They look great. These are not very large as the ones later on in the winter but their aroma and taste are superb.

Music practice session

Image
My dearest friend Tonino Mione, seen on drums, invited me to a practice session of his musical group in the country which here is just a few kilometers' drive. The place is a converted farm barn where an impromptu dance hall has been created. It was a very lively and pleasant evening. Here are a few photos a took to remember the event.

Turin afternoon / E PL-2

Image
The end of the day comes early this time of the year. It does make for an interesting warm light. This was shot at Via Frejus, the street where my son resides.

It's always beautiful. Castellammare del Golfo

Image
It's almost November the tourists are seen walking in shorts and shirt sleeves. The oleanders are in bloom and the fields have become green again. This photo, taken countless times is one that I never tire of taking.

Urban problems / E PL 2

Image
Just shot this In Genoa. This young woman was having problems with the parking meter machine. The same problems everywhere.

Sicilian Horses E PL-2

Image
These horses are not in Colorado or in any of the western states. They are in Sicily. My friend, Dr. Borruso, besides his love for cardiology, has a passion for horses. This is his small "ranch." The horses are very friendly and very well attended.

Macedonia / E PL-2

This is a typical Italian fruit salad. I do not know the origins of the name. It is, when made with really fresh fruits, a delicious end to a meal. Of course, an espresso will the required to complement this dessert.

That old S1 pro

Image
Nothing has really ever came close to the image quality of the Fuji S1 pro. It only had 3.4 mega pixels and the body was ridiculous. The images were another story. Wonderful, out of the camera.

Pasta con l'aglio / E PL-2

Image
Having just arrived from Italy, I was hungry for some comfort food. Nothing could be simpler. Tomatoes, garlic and basil. All chopped in extra virgin olive oil and tossed raw on hot linguini. Nice.
