from the archives / Canon Ft

Image
Shot back in 1972 in Sicily with the Canon 50mm FL lens. Again, the photos had to be desaturated as they had a noticeable magenta cast. The house is in Guidaloca while the water fountain once used to wash clothes is from Scopollo.

More archivals from Firenze / Canon Ft

Image
Shot with the superb 28mm F3.5 Canon FL lens. Originals were in Ansco 500 but were desaturated as the color had shifted too much toward magenta.

Archival slide scans / Canon Ft

Image
Shot in Florence using Ansco 500, the fastest color slide film available then. How much we have progressed and how spoiled we have become in ISO speed. The panorama is shot from Piazzale Michelangelo while the two shots of the Davide were shot inside with available light. I had to de saturate them as they had become somewhat magenta in tonal quality.

Shot with the Nikkor 60mm Micro F2.8, at the hothouse of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. They look refreshing.

I wish it were so...maybe / Nikon D-300

It is so hot right now that part of me thinks of winter. But then, I really dislike winter with a passion. Yet these cold images are nice on a very hot day.

Cremona / E PL-2

Two more from my recent trip to Italy. These were shot in Cremona, a jewel of a city in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Here the finest violins were made.

Un record, anche per una Leica

Image
In Vienna, at a auction, a vintage 1923 Leica went for one million Euro. Amazing In vienna, ad asta, una Leica si e' venduta per un milione di Euro. Incredibile.

An old friend / Canon Ft

Image
This is an old friend of ours with whom we used to go camping. We were having breakfast and I captured her while she was looking pensively out the window. It seems just like yesterday. But the Kodachrome color remains faithful.
