Entrance hall silhouette

Image
This silhouette was shot looking out from the entrance hall or androne of the municipal building in Castellammare del Golfo. I like the whole feeling of the photo.

Have a wonderful weekend

Image
Stay warm, it will soon look like this.....hopefully.

Morning fog

Image
No matter what, a little fog makes for nice images. What would ordinarily be a pedestrian shot is turned into a magical one. These early morning  images were made last December while I was walking my dog

Le Musée D'Orsay

Image
Once a rail road station, this fabulous Belle Epoque structure has been transformed into a wonderful museum. Here we see Montmartre  in the distance. Paris, you are always in our hearts . We shall visit you again soon.

It's always the light

Image
This Kodachrome scan dates from April 1987. The Capitol was being worked on and the scaffolding created problems. Nevertheless, the late afternoon li ght saved the day. It's always the light.

Cortile

Image
This is another of those "where are they now" images. The site is a courtyard in Genoa, Italy. Many years ago, photos looked old after a few decades. Now images always seem fresh and really assume that timeless quality that  makes photography unique. After  more than four decades, this image is still perfect. Of course the subjects are all grown up and even dead. However, back in 1970, that proud grandmother, so attentive of her charges was very much alive. It's one of the strengths and great ironies of this craft. Where are they now, indeed.

Light through stained glass windows

Image
These vintage archival photos were shot inside Santa Croce church in Florence. The resultant colored light makes for interesting images of an otherwise dull and gray interior. It's always the light.

Have a beautiful week
