Manhattan street views

New York is fascinating and one can hardly stay abreast of all the new buildings that are going up. Here are two sites that have seen much change recently.

Orchids

The Planting Fields Arboretum on Long Island's north shore is a wonderful place to visit especially on cold wintry days. Besides it's superb collection of camellias and it's magnificent green house, it sports a varied collection of orchids.

Sicilian neighbor

These are images of Signora Rosa who lived across the street from me in Sicily. Because of health issues, she had to move with her daughter. She is a wonderful woman whose smile light up the street. I miss seeing her.

To remenber a good friend

I believe that good friends are treasures and when such a friend is also a good neighbor it's almost like a blessing. These images are of my late friend Eddie Pernice who died a few years ago. A wonderful man who had great kindness and wisdom. He was steady as a rock and a person to whom I could turn  for advice. He left us too soon and he is dearly missed.

We had a wedding

Franscesca, the lovely bride
I try not to get personal in this blog but Josef, our oldest son, married Francesca whom we love and adore. I want to share a few photos I took. Although there was a photographer out of whose way a tried to stay. I simply had to shoot a few images; I just had to. I used the very unobtrusive Lumix GX1.
