I just bought a whole bunch of fava beans from a farmer who had just picked them. I am planning to cook them along with some fresh peas to make them into a soup with pasta. Che delizia. Fava beans are one of my favorite vegetables and here in Sicily they are in season at this time.
Cuccuddati, a very old and traditional dessert, are made with fried dough and honey. We were invited today, May first, labor day here, to a day long food feast that featured cucciddati among more modern desserts. We enjoyed them.
