Fave siciliane

Image
I just bought a whole bunch of fava beans from a farmer who had just picked them. I am planning to cook them along with some fresh peas to make them into a soup with pasta. Che delizia . Fava beans are one of my favorite vegetables and here  in Sicily they are in season at this time.

Back to Erice

This place is really to good to miss. I always go there when I'm in Sicily. It's an incredibly beautiful hilltop medieval town.

Cucciddati

Image
Cuccuddati , a very old and traditional dessert, are made with fried dough and honey. We were invited today, May first, labor day here, to a day long food feast that featured cucciddati among more modern desserts. We enjoyed them.

Gantry State Park

Image
This park is located across from midtown Manhattan in Queens in a neighborhood that has undergone incredible gentrification. It is a very nice place to visit and relax.

This very cute and precocious little girl was the daughter of the owner of a crab house in Baltimore. She was very precious.

Although it's really still rather cool, it is spring so we most post flowers. These are from the backyard.

Firenze

Florence is of course one of Italy's most wonderful cities. It's art treasures are enviable. Here is a shot of the Arno river at dusk shot by my talented wife Marcy with her Canon G-9.
